Student’s hand cut in friend feud

An IU student was arrested after cutting another student’s hand at 6 p.m. Monday in the 10th Street parking lot. The IU Police Department received a call about the incident at 6:30 p.m.

“It was a couple that had been friends at one time and had a strained relationship,” Lt. Craig Munroe said.

According to Munroe, the male student was in one car with two friends and the female student was in another car with two friends. The woman claimed that the male student was threatening her with a knife. He got out of his car and ran up to her door, where he yelled at her and threatened her life.

The female student refused medical treatment for the cut on her hand, and the male student was charged with battery with a deadly weapon, a class C felony; intimidation with a deadly weapon, a class C felony, and criminal recklessness, a class D felony.
