The “All for All” campaign, organized by the Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools, raised $675,000, 90 percent of its goal.
FMCCS executive director Tina Peterson said though they did not raise the goal of $750,000, she is impressed with the amount they did manage to raise in 46 days.
“I wish we could give full compensation to all coaches and sponsors, but I don’t think we can diminish how great it is that we raised this much money during this time of year,” Peterson said.
The money raised will be split among the 400 extracurricular positions that were affected by budget cuts.
Peterson said the money could not have been raised without the support of people of Monroe County.
“I am clearly really humbled by the level of support from every segment of the community who chose to stand up for our kids and our schools,” Peterson said.
