iUnity
iSustain
The initiative will focus on implementing the Green Initiative Fund, which will give students the option to contribute money to sustainability projects during class registration. It also pledges to work with the Student Sustainability Council to develop sustainability projects on campus.
iConnect
The iUnity administration will form a coalition of underrepresented and minority student groups to help them connect with each other and gain membership, funding and administrative representation.
iBus
iUnity will expand on the Btown administration’s GPS bus-tracking initiative to ensure its implementation.
iBike
Similarly, iUnity will continue the cross-campus bike rental system initiative used by the Btown administration.
iBreak
iUnity plans to finish work done by the Btown administration by continuing to work with faculty to secure a Thursday and Friday fall break in October and a guaranteed Labor Day holiday.
iSafe
iUnity will press the City of Bloomington to install crosswalks at points already determined by a recent Bloomington Campus Traffic Safety Task Force report. It will also work to establish a safety education system for freshmen.
Kirkwood
Campus Safety
Kirkwood will implement three more crosswalks, in addition to those recommended by the task force, located between Foster and McNutt Quads, between the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the Herman B Wells Library and between Read Center and the Musical Arts Center.
Library Computers
Kirkwood will use IU Mobile software to promote a tracking system, similar to that used by Btown to track open gym equipment, for library computers. It will promote existing computer-monitoring software to make it more accessible and visible.
Course Descriptions
The ticket will work to improve course registration by providing syllabi and book lists to students during the registration process.
Meal Points
Kirkwood would press for the implementation of a Indiana Memorial Union food-purchase plan, which would include a $300 add-on available at purchase with 100 percent rollover between semesters and a small discount for food purchased in the Union. This will be similar to the existing Union Plus meal plan, except it would provide a slight discount and the initial buy-in would be higher.
Fall Break
Kirkwood’s fall break plan will support either a Thursday and Friday break and guaranteed Labor Day holiday similar to the plan proposed by the Btown administration or a full-week Thanksgiving break.
