IU-Northwest Gary chancellor finalists prepare for campus visits

Finalists for the open chancellor’s position at IU-Northwest Gary will be visiting campus this week as the search to fill the position continues.

While on campus, the two finalists will meet with faculty, staff, students and community members.

After their visit, the University search committee will make its recommendations to IU President Michael McRobbie. McRobbie’s decision will then await approval by the board of trustees.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Metropolitan State University William Lowe will visit Thursday and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Clarion University of Pennsylvania Valentine James will visit March 9.

“I am pleased with the progress of the search and impressed with the enthusiasm and quality of the candidates,” said Edwin Marshall, IU Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs and chair of the search committee, in an IU press release.

The new chancellor will replace retiring IU-Northwest Gary Chancellor Bruce Bergland.
