Bluegrass-on-speed would be the genre that best describes Love Is All’s most recent album, “Two Thousand And Ten Injuries.” Its upbeat and stringy tones, swanky percussion and strangely childish vocals lend to a kitschy sound from the Swedish quintet. But fear not, this band makes truly jam-worthy music.
While some bands lose momentum after their first two albums, “Two Thousand and Ten Injuries” is an incredibly successful collection.
Possible summer anthems include the first song, “Bigger Bolder.” Care is taken with the musical arrangement as electrified banjo-plucking and synthesized lyrics meld fantastically.
“Repetition” is equally delicious but with more Blue Man Group-esque instrumentals; the deep echo of the percussion in “Repetition” sounds like the long plastic tubes the azure-colored performers use.
Love Is All is an indie band on the cusp of becoming mainstream. Their music is too good to stay on the fringe.
Injuries are welcome
