Board of trustees to meet, discussing important projects

The IU board of trustees met Thursday and will meet Friday at the IU-Kokomo Kelley Student Center.

The Finance and Audit Committee addressed rates of residence halls on IU campuses for the 2010-11 academic year Thursday. The Facilities Committee will meet Friday to review construction projects and approve future designs.

The Jacobs School of Music needs approval in order to proceed with the design of its new studio building, which will consist of 84 studios as well as 15 other rooms.  Also, plans include an addition on the west side of the Musical Arts Center.

Also, approval is needed to replace Assembly Hall’s roof with a fully adhered membrane roof, according to the agenda.

Although the projects are on campus, MacIntyre stressed their importance.
“They are important to address because they concern people in Bloomington, not just the IU campus,” he said.
