Ninja Assassin

Ninja Assassin

Awesome.

I try to refrain from this overused, watered down word as much as possible, but there really is no other way to describe “Ninja Assassin.”

This Wachowksi Brothers production (those guys who made “The Matrix”) is a blood dripping, ninja flipping, gut wrenching monster of a popcorn action film, with more meat than usual for this genre.

While certainly no masterpiece, the simple story of a modern day ninja gone rogue and at war with his clan never ceases to entertain, though it at times strains the suspension of disbelief. J. Michael Straczynski (creator of “Babylon 5,” and award winning comic writer) brings his writing talents to deliver what would otherwise be a pretty mediocre movie.

The title “Ninja Assassin” perfectly prepares audiences for what they can expect from this movie: an action-fueled, over-the-top, somewhat-redundant film that caters to those who love gory martial arts movies.
