IU men’s soccer will be without its preseason All-American defender Ofori Sarkodie Friday against St. John’s.
The defensive leader’s one-game suspension stems from a red card received against St. John’s in last season’s 3-2 NCAA Quarterfinal loss.
An intentional handballing call from the two teams’ last encounter will force Sarkodie to watch from the sidelines.
Freshman Caleb Konstanski will be Sarkodie’s stand-in. IU men’s soccer coach Mike Freitag said he does not know yet how his team will use Konstanski.
IU also plays Wake Forest at 2 p.m. Sunday. Sarkodie will play in that game.
