Bloomington Hospital recently received the 2009 VIP Award from McKesson Technology Solutions for their use of information technology to help in the delivery of health care to the community, according to a press release.
Bloomington Hospital is one of five health care organizations in the U.S. that received the award and they are the only hospital system in Ind. to receive it, according to the release.
The VIP award is given annually to organizations that "demonstrate vision, innovation and performance in the use of health care IT," according to the release.
“We knew that technology would enable our caregivers to achieve significant additional clinical and operational efficiencies,” vice president and chief information officer at Bloomington Hospital Mark McMath said in the release. “Our care teams’ involvement in the selection and implementation of these applications has enabled the incredible results we’ve achieved for our patients.”
