IU senior defender Ofori Sarkodie has been added to the 2009 preseason Soccer America’s Second Team All-American list.

Sarkodie was added to the 11-player second team honoring some of the countries best soccer players. Over the course of his career, Sarkodie has been named to the Big Ten All-Freshman and All Conference teams. He has also been an Great Lakes All-Region performer.

Last season, Sarkodie helped lead IU to 10 shutouts and was a Big Ten All-Tournament team selection. He started all of the Hoosiers 24 matches before they were defeated 3-2 by St. John’s in the NCAA quarterfinals. Sarkodie scored his first career goal in the overtime loss.

One of many returning players for the Hoosiers, Sarkodie has played on the biggest of stages. He played with Freddy Adu on the U.S. U-20 in the summer after his freshman season.
