Q&A with Abbey Stemler

IDS IU football or basketball?
Stemler Basketball, though the new football stadium is awesome.

IDS If you weren’t in law school, what would you be doing?
Stemler I guess that’s why I went to law school, because I didn’t know what to do. I’d probably be abroad, maybe be back in Australia.

IDS What’s your favorite bar?
Stemler Finch’s. I probably go there twice a week. They have really great food and great drinks.

IDS What’s your favorite place on campus?
Stemler Arboretum.

IDS Have you always been a Hoosier?
Stemler My sister dressed me up as an IU Cabbage Patch kid when I was little. So yes, I’ve always been a Hoosier.

IDS What’s your least favorite part about Bloomington?
Stemler That there’s not an ice cream shop downtown. I miss Jiffy Treet. The Chocolate Moose is good, but it’s not the same.

IDS What was your favorite class?
Stemler Price of Prosperity. It was my sophomore year, and I was a terrible writer and it taught me how to write. It taught basic consumerism through literature.

IDS When did you feel like a freshman?
Stemler I think I got about four parking tickets as a freshman. First semester, I also had three finals in one day and I lost it. I couldn’t sleep, and then I got into my car and cried and then my car wouldn’t start. As a freshman, I felt like I was always making a mistake.
