Schools are trying to address financial problems posed by the recession while still meeting the need to educate students.
The IU School of Education is aiming to help the media with these complex issues.
The school has organized “Issues in Education,” a one-day seminar for education reporters.
The experts at the seminar presentations and discussions will offer information to help reporters tackle complex issues associated with educating Indiana’s children, as well as students nationwide, according to an IU press release.
Faculty experts will draw from their research and service as they discuss topics including the state budget and schools, the growth of Chinese language education and education issues before the legislature.
The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 24 in Room CE 148 of the IU-Purdue University Indianapolis Campus Center. The $15 registration fee includes beverages and snacks, according to a press release.
