Police: Student wrote bomb threat at Ind. high school

SHARPSVILLE, Ind. – Authorities believe they’ve identified a student who wrote a bomb threat on a restroom wall at Tri-Central High School in Sharpsville.

Indiana State Police said an investigation with school officials determined that a 17-year-old male student wrote the message, which was found March 2 by another student.

The case has been turned over to the Tipton County prosecutor’s office. The 17-year-old, whose name was not released, has not yet been charged.

The threat indicated a bomb would explode March 11 at the school of about 550 students about 40 miles north of Indianapolis. On that day, police officers searched student’s backpacks and used dogs to search the school grounds. No explosives were found.
