Change: It’s trash

I fear that Kristi Lafree’s being a John McCain supporter might sway readers to believe she is playing bias or complaining because there’s nothing else to do now that McCain has lost.

But I’d have to say that, as an Independent, I felt the same way.
Sky-blue fliers, stickers and pamphlets. These are all great ways to educate voters on candidates, but that’s not what happened. The students and organizations who were distributing and accepting literature destroyed the campus. Everywhere I walked, “Change We Can Believe In” trash covered streets, sidewalks, classrooms, University buildings and virtually anything you can think of.

Trash is what it was, and I’m afraid that too many individuals were swept away in the fervor of the campaign to realize what they were actually doing.

The University looked like it had seen the bad side of an Obama parade. But what’s worse, nobody cared.

I never saw one person pick up a flier off the ground and start reading it. The Obama organizations shoved political literature down our throats, and guess what? Everyone threw it back up. Whatever your political affiliation is, freedom of speech does not mean vandalism or littering the community.
