It’s happened again. Homosexuality is threatening our communities. It’s being taught in schools. Lesbians and gay men are raising kids. Gays want to marry. And we’re afraid because this is America. And in America, we do what’s best for our children.
Or at least that’s what David House believes.
I believe that too. I believe that we should vote and be responsible for our communities. If we don’t, our children’s health and well-being will be in danger.
That’s why I condemn the ban on same-sex marriage. It gives a community the right to override individual liberties that are clearly stated in the Bill of Rights. This is America, and in America, the rights of the individual override the consensus. You don’t want your child to learn about homosexuality? Guess what, it’s called private schooling. This is America: You have the right to choose. But you don’t have the right to demand the state do exactly what you want because of your “morals.”
I agree that children who are raised by a father and a mother probably have better health and academic results and fewer emotional problems, criminal incidents and addictions to drugs. But man, I have heard this one before. This is kind of like the tragic mulatto, only it’s the tragic homosexual.
I believe that it is better for a child to have a father and a mother, in this day and age. Unfortunately, this day and age is dying to make way for a new generation, one that will hopefully teach its children that there are no differences in people. If you cut me, I bleed the same as you. Then we won’t have to worry about our children being victimized at school if they have an “unconventional” home. We won’t have to worry about Mr. and Mrs. Smith across the street who teach their children that homosexuals are disgusting and abdominal, that they are the anti-future.
Really, it is those who subscribe to these hegemonic “designs” who are the anti-future.
