A Bloomington man was arrested Sunday night for threatening four teenagers when fireworks were thrown under his front door.
Johnnie L. Johnson, 27, faces four preliminary charges of intimidation.
The incident took place in the 3000 block of South Walnut Street, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Jeff Canada said, reading from a police report.
Johnson, along with an unidentified male, told police someone threw a pack of lit fireworks under his front door at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. The fireworks began going off inside the residence where a small child was present, Johnson told police.
Johnson became angry and opened the front door and saw four people, according to the police report. He asked if they put the fireworks under the door. The four people told Johnson they just arrived home and were leaving their vehicle.
Johnson and the four began to argue, and Johnson made gestures suggesting he had a gun, two witnesses told police. According to police reports and the two witnesses, Johnson threatened the four people, saying he had a bullet for each of them. The four people ran to a parking lot north of the scene.
Two other witnesses said they heard yelling, but did not hear Johnson say anything about a gun or bullets.
Johnson was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
