An Indianapolis man was killed Thursday night after being involved in a two-vehicle collision north of Martinsville.
Patrick Gosnell, 48, was traveling south on Indiana SR 37 near Maple Turn Road on his 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he attempted to pass another vehicle in the right lane. After merging into the left lane, the vehicle in front of him slowed. The vehicle was a 1993 Jeep Cherokee driven by Bloomington resident Cody Brooks, 28.
Gosnell was unable to avoid the collision and struck the back of Brooks vehicle, and sustained head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. Brooks was not injured in the accident.
Gosnell died the following afternoon at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Indiana State Police are still investigating the crash.
