When you spend more than $120 at a restaurant, you expect champagne and caviar. My daughter and four friends decided to eat at the Taco Bell on North Walnut Street near the downtown courthouse. After eating, they decided to run over to a cookie place across the street. When they returned 10 minutes later, the car had been towed! She hadn’t seen either of the two 20-minute-only parking signs. The night her car was towed, the parking lot was not even half full. Her spontaneous decision to grab a cookie was not costing Taco Bell or its customers. But it did cost her plenty – $120! The towing company that Taco Bell has hired is less than two miles from the restaurant. Hmm... I wonder if they are making a lot of money. Students, beware if you are parking in this area of downtown Bloomington – there is a sentry for this company who is stationed on top of a parking garage and is reporting parking violations for five businesses, including Taco Bell.
