Don’t forget women’s basketball

I am absolutely amazed and disgusted by the lack of support being shown for our women’s basketball team. \n1. They are winning!\n2. They are pretty darn good.\n3. They play as a team 100 percent of the time.\n4. They play an entertaining brand of basketball. \n5. They have an excellent, charismatic coach.\nAttendance at the Jan. 31 home game against Wisconsin was less than 1,000. There were maybe 100 students in attendance, including the pep band. It’s free, the team is good and the men’s game didn’t start until 9:00. I don’t see the problem. The women won at Purdue in front of 9,000. They won at Michigan State in front of 10,000. They come home to play in front of 900! It really is sad. Well, the good thing is the women have five more HUGE home games. Maybe it will get better. They definitely deserve it.
