INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis police officer has been jailed on a preliminary charge of murder in connection with a shooting after a New Year’s Eve party at an Indianapolis tavern. \nPolice say Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officer Shannon McComas, 32, gave a stolen gun to Sunungura Rusununguko, who is charged with using the weapon to kill a security guard and injure four other people at about 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 1 outside Durty Nelly’s pub. \nAuthorities say McComas’ wife is manager of the bar, which is located on the city’s east side, and his father-in-law is listed as its owner. Police said McComas was on sick leave from the police force, but might have been working at the bar that night.\nThirty-year-old bouncer Ronnie Croom Jr. died in \nthe shooting.\nThe Marion County Jail on Monday had no attorney listed for McComas, who is being held without bond.
