Editorial Cartoon on Nov. 15

I was appalled when I read the so-called editorial cartoon on Wednesday, Nov. 15. To call Veterans Day boring is not only embarrassing to me as a student but also offensive to me as a soldier. Do you think that Veterans Day is a bore for the families of soldiers who have died or a time to remember and reflect on the hardships they endured? In my family, Veterans Day is a day to thank those who have served, which includes not only me but my husband, my parents and my father in-law. I demand an apology for myself, my family and all of the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who both attend and are employed by Indiana University. I hope in the future that the editorial staff will remember veterans on Veterans Day and not just as a boring lead up to Christmas.
