Last week's article about the 9th District Congressional race downplayed many important issues. To begin with, the parties only agree that energy is good. Congressman Sodrel goes further to say that the answer to our energy problem is increasing supply via alternative energy, additional drilling and tapping into the nation's coal resources. Former Congressman Hill approaches the issue from an "evil empire" analysis that focuses on taking away the incentives to produce (earned profits) by penalizing the private sector through higher taxes on oil companies.\nThe idea that these candidates agree on Iraq is preposterous. One candidate sees this as a multifaceted war between fascist terrorists and liberty, while the other sees Iraq as illegitimate freedom. Which candidate supports which? Watch and participate with Indiana politics. Congress is closely divided over a number of issues, and this race can mean the difference between two approaches to government. One that says government is the answer and the other says government is the problem. One that says liberty and freedom are the answers and another that says peace at any price. Whichever point on this spectrum you come down on please watch this race and please do not simply pass it off as "dreary"
Sodrel good, Hill bad
