Joe dubuque finished his senior season just as he had started it -- a national champion. Dubuque defeated Troy Nickerson, a true freshman out of Cornell, March 18 to become the first Hoosier to win back-to-back NCAA wrestling championships. Dubuque finished the season 28-1, with his only loss coming to Kyle Ott of Illinois in the Big Ten semifinals. The loss to Ott snapped a 28-match win streak for Dubuque dating back to the 2005 Big Ten semifinals.\nDubuque's title helped the Hoosiers to an 18th place team finish at the NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City. Sophomore Brandon Becker defeated Craig Henning of Wisconsin 9-6 in the seventh-place match, earning his second straight All-American award. Also qualifying for the Hoosiers in the NCAA Tournament were sophomores Max Dean and Dave Herman and freshman Andrae Hernandez. It was the second time Dean had qualified for NCAAs and the first time qualifying for both Herman and Hernandez.
