All About Me:

Megan Tillinghast

Megan Tillinghast, a senior majoring in apparel merchandising and minoring in business, already has her future mapped out since she signed with Macy's Central doing sales/management and has even bought a house in Cincinnati's Hyde Park. \n"It's known as the hot spot for young professionals. This is the next step to begin my career, and it's really making me look forward to life after college." \nShe's a sports fanatic, enjoys dining out at Malibu Grill, will listen to any genre of music that makes her dance and most importantly loves going hiking in the woods at Griffy Lake with her dog Sayde. \n

What she's known for

\nTillinghast is best known for the little things she does to make people laugh, whether it is making her roommates "toast" everyday at 5 p.m. for happy hour, being the singer and dancer of the group or living up to her nicknames "Queen Rock Star, a.k.a. the Wild Child." She's always the one who instigates the fun and has the best stories to reminisce over the next day.\n"I like to make people laugh and if that includes singing by myself, walking home with two of my friends with bras around our necks in the dead of winter from Kirkwood, breaking out the '80s wig (even on spring break in South Beach) or playing strip power hour with my friends, then that's what I do."\n

On the weekends ... \nor almost every night

\n"I marry Scotty's on Wednesdays and have an affair with Nick's on Thursday's."\nBut on the actual weekend, this girl likes to get her groove on at Sports or enjoy an AMF at Upstairs. \n"I'm really into Sports right now because I like how you can actually move around, and you can dance upstairs and is has great outside areas."\n

Craziest IU experience

\nTillinghast's sophomore year went down in the record book during Little 500 week as one of the biggest parties to ever get busted by excise police at 19th and Washington.\n"My roommates and I were dancing on a stage before the band got there to set-up and excise rode up on bikes and crept in through the bushes and everyone just took off running. We felt awful because so many people got arrested, but it was by far a crazy experience."\n

A word of wisdom

\n"Even though I'm the wild child of the group, I do these things to create memories with my friends. I like being the one to bring a smile over a frown. I like to be the one to entertain us when times are boring. I live my life like there's no tomorrow and like college will never end. I live my life having fun, which allows me to love my life. I hope every freshman reading this will look at this as a person telling you to make the most of your college years because the last four years have flown by. And knowing I lived my life like a 'four year party' allows me to mutter the words 'it's about to be last call."
