The No. 60 IU men's tennis team moved to 4-0 on the season with its second consecutive doubleheader sweep. The Hoosiers won the first ever matchup against fellow in-state school IU-Purdue University Fort Wayne 7-0, and improved to 4-0 all-time against Toledo after Saturday's 6-1 win.\n"We have had two weekends with two matches, and I feel like it has gotten us into better tennis shape," IU coach Ken Hydinger said. "We have a number of guys that are moving up in the singles lineup from a year ago, and with these matches, I feel like they are becoming more comfortable in those positions."\nSenior Dmytro Ishtuganov, who garnered IU Athlete of the Week honors, is one of those players adjusting well to new singles positions. As IU's No.1 singles player and No. 1 doubles player, Ishtuganov flourished this weekend. He disposed of Toledo's Chris Clark 6-0, 6-2 in 40 minutes, and jumped his record to 11-4 on the season with his 6-1, 6-3 victory against IPFW's Landry Nzudie.\nOverall, the Hoosiers won 11 of their 12 singles matches, and swept all doubles. IU found new doubles tandems to get the job done after spending every practice emphasizing doubles play and court positioning.\n"We worked a lot on doubles this week and we had better positioning out on the court," Hydinger said. "We changed the doubles combinations up a little bit, and I think the guys responded."\nIshtuganov teamed with sophomore Dara McLoughlin at the No. 1 doubles position against Toledo. The tandem got the ball rolling with an 8-2 win over Tony Tran and Mohammed Al Nabhani.\n"I want to get my volleys stronger and come to the net more," McLoughlin said. "The courts are very fast (indoors) and it's harder to play from the baseline."\nSenior Neil Kenner and freshman Mak Kendall got the second point of the day with an 8-3 win, and junior David Bubenicek and freshman Peter Antons evened their record to 5-5 as a doubles pairing with their win, 8-7 (7-4).\nAgainst the IPFW Mastodons, the Hoosiers didn't miss a beat. Bubenicek partnered up with sophomore Michael McCarthy to trounce Landry Nzudie and Nabil Mourad Filho 8-3.\n"Lately I've been working on my serve," McCarthy said. "But I want to make my serve a weapon I can rely on and hold serve each game."\nKenner and Kendall continued their winning ways by grabbing an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 position. McLoughlin and Antons won their first doubles match together, 8-7 (7-5), at the No. 3 position.\nThe Hoosiers are off until Feb. 10 when they head down to Louisville, Ky., and then Middle Tennessee State the following day.\n"We have two weeks to prepare for a pair of tough road matches against top 35 teams in Louisville and Middle Tennessee State," Hydinger said. "Winning matches like those would be very helpful in getting us back into the NCAA Tournament"
