All About Me: Maggie Bozich

Maggie Bozich, features editor for the WEEKEND, spends a majority of her waking hours in the IDS office. When she's not in front of a computer editing a story, she can be found at home with a good Disney movie or prowling Kirkwood, looking for a beer. And as far as the picture goes -- she's a Pices, but she's never a fish out of water. Here's what else makes her feel in her element.
Music
When it comes to Bozich's tunes, she can appreciate a lady with a set of pipes -- but that's not where her tastes end. "My iPod has Carly Simon, Janis Ian, Carol King and Joni Mitchell. I just added Madeline Peyroux. But I really like country music. I hate to admit it because people have a bad idea of it. They talk about more than just drinking and farming. I have John Mayer and Jack Johnson, those sorts of things, and the new Coldplay CD. I'll listen to the same song over and over again until my roommates make me stop."
Bars
"I like to go to the Kirkwood bars the most, Kilroy's, Upstairs, Nick's. I don't like to pay to get into places, I'm cheap. I like Corona with lime, or cranberry and vodka."
Movies
When it comes to flicks, Bozich is all over the map. "I don't have one favorite, but I love 'The Sound of Music.' I love Disney movies. I really liked 'Closer' and 'Garden State.'" But don't think Bozich is a girly girl when it comes to her movies. She loves a good scary movie as much as she loves a good romance. "I also love 'The Shining,' 'American History X,' 'Amélie,' and 'When Harry Met Sally.' 'Closer' was a romance movie in some strange way, but I'm a sucker for romance. I try to be realistic though. I love scary movies."
TV
"When I watch it, the VH1 celebrity shows are great. 'Nip/Tuck' is one of my favorite shows, but I have to shut my eyes during the cutting scenes. I also like 'Sex and the City,' and I'm sad that it's off air. I watch it on DVD now."
Clothing
For Bozich, getting dressed is more of an adventure than a chore.
"I just bought a T-shirt that says 'Large Marge in Charge.' It's black with white lettering, and it has a semi-truck on it. It's from 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure.' For new clothes, I'm a big fan of the Gap. And while Bozich loves a good shopping trip as much as the next girl, she knows how to appreciate the classics. "I just threw out my overalls that I've had since the 7th grade, which was traumatic. If anyone knows where I can get another pair, I'd appreciate the information."
