A 37-year-old man was found hanged in Bryan Park late Friday night.\nSpencer, Ind., resident Carl Edward Runyon's body was discovered hanging from a jungle gym near the basketball courts off of South Henderson Street, said Lt. Anthony Pope of the Bloomington Police Department. Bloomington Hospital paramedics pronounced Runyon, who had been released from the belt by which he was hanging in the time following the initial call to authorities, to be dead upon arriving at the scene.\nPark official Phillip Riggs was the first to find Runyon at approximately 11:33 p.m. BPD officers were dispatched upon receiving complaints of a hanging body in what is considered the main play area of Bryan Park. \nDetectives, evidence technicians and coroner Mike Dennison examined the scene and body shortly after the pronouncement of death. Police suspect suicide, as little evidence points to foul play, but the exact manner and cause of death is yet to be determined.\nRiggs and Dennison could not be reached by press time for comment.
