The dual meet season comes to a close Saturday for Hoosier swimmers and divers as No. 15 Purdue hosts the Crimson and Gold Cup in West Lafayette. The No. 13 ranked IU men's swimming and diving team hopes to claim its 10th dual meet victory of the season. In doing so, the Hoosiers would capture their first 10-win dual meet season in 20 years. \nThe Hoosiers' national ranking has remained constant for an extended period of time, while the Boilermakers have slowly crept up the polls. IU might hold a higher ranking, but its records are notably different. The Hoosiers are 9-4 overall with a 3-2 record in Big Ten competition, making this final meet vastly important for the squad. Purdue, on the other hand, is 10-1 overall and 4-1 in Big Ten competition, losing only to No. 8-ranked Minnesota.\nIU has had recent success against the Boilermakers, not losing to its West Lafayette rival in three years, and only once in the past six years.\nThe Hoosiers took big-meet experience and humility from a disappointing loss to No. 6 Michigan two weeks ago. \nFollowing the dual meet against Purdue, the Hoosiers are set to train for the Big Ten Championships that will take place three weeks from now in Minneapolis.
