Democrats, liberals are already grown-up enough; are you? Jon Blanks, you are the main reason why I can't understand Republicans. Believe me, when the elections ended ("The defeat of elitism" Nov. 8). I had a feeling that many Bush supporters would start to gloat about the outcome. That I didn't mind, considering that's what I would've done if Kerry had won the election. But you've set a new low in gloating. Telling Democrats and vitriolic liberals to grow up was unnecessary and definitely uncalled for. We all have our views and opinions and telling me to deal with it just doesn't sit well with me. A man in New York has committed suicide because of Bush's re-election. If you were the last person he saw before he killed himself, would you tell him to grow up and deal with it? Besides, it is my opinion that this election was run on the topic of religion and not about the politics. Lastly, I will not "Hail to the chief." Keep that to yourself next time you decide to tell me what to do. Connie Moy
Junior Thank you for a wonderful Culture Festival I would like to congratulate the Indonesian Student association on their splendid Culture Festival on Saturday evening. As one of the fortunate persons to attend, I enjoyed the delightful dancing, singing, exquisite costumes, original drama and incredibly delicious food! I want to say thank you to all of the students who worked so hard to present a truly outstanding program and a lovely evening. Nita Levison
