LL still saying 'I'm gonna knock you out'

Some things never die, and James Todd Smith, aka LL Cool J, is proving that with his new release The DEFinition. The heavyweight champion of rap puts his rhyming skills to the test once again and dares anyone to challenge him on this album. \nThe DEFinition offers a lot of hot tracks that are club-friendly, and this could be thanks in part to Timbaland, who helped produce six of the tracks on the CD. R. Kelly also appears on the album. \nLL is keeping it fresh on this new album with his rhyming skills, great beats and cool background sounds. That is why track four, "Move Somethin'," is my favorite. It really does make you move. It would be a great club song where everyone could "move somethin.'" \nLL also mixes up his songs by having some fast, upbeat rhymes and then adding in some slow jams. On the slow-jam songs, he adds a slow rap style with smooth beats and then tops it off with backup singers. Tracks five, six and eight are the best examples. LL Cool J has mixed in songs like this for years now, and it has proven to be successful for him. \nIn the end, you can't take anything away from Cool J because he's proven himself to be one of the top rappers for many years. In the '80s he was grouped with the likes of the Beastie Boys and Run DMC, and he's still going strong today with the likes of Eminem and 50 Cent. He continues to make great hip-hop music and hopefully will continue to for years to come. \nI say buy it, listen to it and enjoy it because he's a hip-hop legend. Big hits to watch out for on this album are "Headsprung," "Move Somethin'" and "I'm About to Get Her." If you're a hip-hop fan and love good music, I recommend this to you and all of your friends.
