Applications now available for 9-11 Scholarship Fund\nApplications for IU's 9-11 Scholarship Fund are now available through the IU Student Foundation.\nThe scholarships are funded by proceeds from the 2002 Little 500 races and contributions made by IU alumni and friends. Three $1,500 scholarships are being offered to undergraduate students.\nThe 9-11 Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 by the IUSF, and its first three scholarships were awarded on Sept. 11, 2002. IUSF established the foundation in memory of three IU students' fathers who lost their lives in the attacks, as well as other individuals with IU ties who died.\nApplications are available online at www.iusf.org or at the IUSF office. Kelley School publishes annual car registration report\nIndiana residents registered fewer cars in 2003, setting a record for largest yearly decline in car registration for Indiana, according to a report published by the Kelley School of Business, \nAccording to the report, Chevrolet is the most popular automobile in 78 of Indiana's 92 counties. Chevrolets are owned by 17.9 percent of Indiana residents, with only 14.9 percent owning Fords.\nIndiana residents also own more American-made vehicles than foreign ones, with 66.7 percent of Indiana's registered vehicles made by U.S. automakers.\nThe report can be viewed in its entirety at www.ibrc.indiana.edu/incontext.
IU report shows decline in adolescent drug use\nIU's Indiana Prevention Resource Center has issued the results of its 14th annual survey on adolescent use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.\nAccording to the results, cigarette use, marijuana use and binge drinking decreased in all grades. Older adolescents reportedly used more club drugs, such as ecstasy and LSD, than younger adolescents. The use of smokeless tobacco increased in all grades except 12th, and inhalant use increased among 6th through 11th graders.\nThe results are based on surveys completed by 91,577 6th- through 12th-grade students in 297 Indiana schools.
