We are dealing with arguably the best western ever made and to make it better, there is no downside! "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" tells the epic western tale of The Man With No Name (Clint Eastwood), his untrustworthy partner Tuco (Eli Wallach) and the Yankee officer Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef). All of them want the $200,000 in gold that's buried in a grave.\nThe restoration of the film is definitely a selling feature. The video quality is amazing, and the additional scenes added to the feature film make the movie flow better than the original American release. Altogether 18 minutes were added. Even more interesting, Eastwood and Wallach were brought into a recording studio to do some additional voiceovers for scenes that were previously recorded in Italian, but made the cut in this special edition. New sound effects were also added.\nI thought the deleted scenes would be a little more impressive, but the other special features more than make up for what they are lagging. There are four documentaries, historical commentary and a section on how the film was restored. Six international mini-posters come with the DVD.\nWith all the good set aside, it does take some time to watch all of this. Director Sergio Leone is known for taking his time, holding shots far longer than most directors would. However, the three hour movie and all the special features you can stand are definitely worth your time.
DVD only 'Good,' not 'Bad' or 'Ugly'
