'Nightmare on Friday the 13th'

Beware. Your worst childhood nightmare has come true: Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) and Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, stepping in for Kane Hodder) have finally teamed up. \nThe world has forgotten about Freddy, and without being feared he has no power to attack people through their dreams. Enter Jason, whom Freddy awakens from death, though we all know he never really dies. Freddy manipulates Jason into killing people, thus fear is revived and Freddy's power returns. But when Jason won't stop killing, Freddy gets pissed and there is a fight to the death. \nThe DVD contains a plethora of special features such as "Jump to a Death," in which you can go straight to every death in the movie, commentary from director Ronny Yu and actors Englund and Kirzinger and deleted scenes including an extended intro and an alternate ending. \nWhile a film with the two most popular murderers in movie history could stand on its own, the flick is far better than the sum of its parts. It has senseless teen massacres, humorous one-liners from Freddy and impeccable battle scenes between the two antiheroes. But the crown jewel of both the film and DVD is the fact that each pays homage to the original works that spawned them. In addition to an appearance by Jason's mother, Freddy recounts his origin as a child murderer burned to death by a mob of angry parents. With Freddy vs. Jason, there truly are no losers -- literally.
