Bentley Professor of political science, won the John J. Carty Award for the Advancement of Science in the field of social science. Previously, Ostrom won the lifetime achievement award from the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in 2003. Ostrom, who was elected to the NAS in 2001, said she was excited to receive the honor. \n"It's fabulous, it's just a fabulous honor," she said.
