IUSA sets election dates for Feb. 24 and 25\nThe IU Student Association announced the Student Body Congress has approved the 2003-2004 election codes, election commissioners have been appointed, and have presented a timeline for 2004 Student Body Elections. Elections will be held on Feb. 24 and 25.\nThe final call-out meeting for candidates is set for Jan. 21. The deadline for applications will be Feb. 4. Jewish studies presenting lecture\nThe Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program will present a lecture by Susannah Heschel titled "Racializing Theology: Nationalism, Nazism, and the Protestant Desire for Dejudaization," at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Indiana Memorial Union's Dogwood Room.\nHeschel is an associate professor in the Religion Department at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. Her areas of interest include modern Jewish thought, feminist theology and German Protestantism.
Etiquette dinners launch spring semester sessions\n"Dine like a Diplomat" etiquette dinners, where students can learn the proper etiquette for business luncheons and dinners, will hold a spring session this semester.\nThe dinners will be held Feb. 11 and Mar. 30 in the Federal room inside the IMU. The cost is $50 a person for non-students. Students who are Student Alumni Association members pay $5, and non-members, pay $10.\nThe series is sponsored by the IU Alumni Club of Monroe County, the Student Alumni Association and the Arts and Sciences Placement Office.\n"By participating in the etiquette program, students will gain confidence in their ability to expertly navigate through some of the most intimidating interview situations," Sondra Inman, director of student programs at the IU Alumni Association, said in a press release.\nThe workshops to prepare students for the dinners will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17 and Mar. 9 in the Kelley Dining Room at the DeVault Alumni Center. Department of Geology sponsors 2004 Bridsall-Dreiss Lecture\nThe Geological Society of America will present the 2004 Bridsall-Dreiss Lecture, titled "Hydrogeology and the Weak Nature of Plate Boundary Faults" at 4 p.m. Friday in the Geology Building, room 143. Barbara Bekins, a research hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, Calif., is the featured speaker for the event.
