CLOSED for the season

The end of October marks the end of the Bloomington Community Farmer's Market

The air is crisp and the sun is out, hidden only by a few puffy clouds. The leaves on the trees are beginning to turn red, orange and yellow. It's Saturday morning, and fall is in full bloom. But the onset of fall means the end of the Farmer's Market. From May through October, held in the Showers Common, the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the Bloomington Community Farmer's Market. The market typically takes place on Saturday mornings and ends with the last weekend in October.\nOffering fruits and vegetables, honey, flowers and artisan goods, Bloomington's Farmer's Market provides the community a place to gather -- and shop. Often, musicians display their talents on the City Hall front walk, including folk dancers, Ladies First and salsa dancers.\nThe market will re-open for a day to celebrate the season at the Holiday Farmer's Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. The market will be inside City Hall and outside at the Showers Common, and will be open even if it is snowing.
