STIMULI a sexual stimulus

What do sexual fantasies, thousands of condoms and a costume contest have in common? \nThey'll all be offered at STIMULI, an erotic attire event where people can divulge in a liberating and informative atmosphere about sexuality and sensuality. \nSTIMULI will hit Axis Nightclub on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. The event is supported by SESSIONS, Inc., an organization that provides and sponsors workshops and grants promoting education and the values of sexual health. \nKelly E. McBride, president of SESSIONS, Inc., has been involved in more than 17 erotic events and notes their success. \n"It is an opportunity for people to creatively express their sensuality, while keeping their personal sexuality private," McBride says. To ensure privacy to all individuals who attend the event, McBride says no cameras will be allowed. There will be a photographer inside the event only for those individuals who want their pictures taken. McBride says the policy allows everyone to feel safe and secure while in attendance at the event.\n"We had a rape survivor attend our past event who informed me that she felt more comfortable at our event than she did walking down Kirkwood at night," McBride says. "We want our guests to feel safe in the knowledge that the only people who will see them are other guests."\nGreeters at the door will interpret the erotic attire and will deny any person who does not show an effort in dressing for the occasion. McBride says this policy ensures individuals to feel comfortable in their attire, although she adds each person must abide by Indiana law and wear the required G-string or pasties. \n"One year we had a girl dressed up in only Fruit Roll-Ups," McBride says. "Everyone liked that outfit."\nThroughout the night there will be erotic performances, focusing on sports, theatre, dance, spirituality and fetishes. McBride says there will be a "return of the edible beauty," where three women will be covered in "delicate confections." There will also be a variety of music spun by DJ Alyda, DJ Boom Slang and Sebastian, information booths on sexuality resources, thousands of free condoms, interactive booths where individuals can pay $1 or $2 to try different sexual products they normally wouldn't buy in stores and two costume contests involving $375 in cash prizes. \nPrizes will be given to individuals with the sexiest and most creative costumes, as well as winners to the fantasy competition where attendees can act out their sexual fantasies in a one minute skit. Judges will base their decisions on the individuals' creativity, originality and sexiness.\nSusi Donnelly, finance manager of SESSIONS, Inc. and a performer for STIMULI, has worked with McBride in all 17 erotic events. Donnelly says she is a firm believer in education and in supporting diversity. \n"Eroticism, safety, sexuality and trust are all part of being a human being," Donnelly says. "This is a way to express your part in the universe."\nIn her experience setting up erotic events, many have sold out. "We provide something new," Donnelly says. "It's never the same thing."\nIn the past six months over 60 IU students and community members have volunteered to be a part of STIMULI.\n"This event is for everyone; straight, gay, bisexual, conservative or freaky," McBride says. "It provides a variety of information, education and experiences for people to learn about."\nTickets are available the night of the event at Axis Nightclub for $25.
