Drive through traffic for 'Italian Job'

The DVD release of The Italian Job is just like the movie itself -- big, loud and fun. The movie, although not critically acclaimed, is a nice return to a summer release just as the weather gets cold. Moreover, the 45 minutes of special features truly make the DVD. \nThe "Making Of" feature reveals a few surprising tidbits, and the "Driving School" feature shows exactly how the actors learned to pull the stunts that make the movie's car chases fantastic. After watching "Making Of," it's not so hard to believe that Jason "Handsome Rob" Statham actually drove a boat 40 mph through Venice. \n"Making Of" also emphasizes the magnitude of the Hollywood scenes -- director F. Gary Gray shut down Hollywood and Highland for a full week. The "Mighty Minis" feature feels a little like a commercial, but the little Coopers are so cool, who cares? BMW gave Gray 32 of the cars to use, and most of them were destroyed in the process of filming. \nThe deleted scenes weren't fantastic, but a few of them featured "Left Ear" Mos Def with some funny lines. The audio is available in English surround, English Dolby surround and French surround sound. \nThe DVD makes a cool movie into a cooler package. My recommendation? Get "Italian"
