Lee's Martial Arts students broke their way into charity events as they participated in a "kick-a-thon" and a "break-a-thon" to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. \nThe two-hour event took place Saturday at the College Mall and included demonstrations of a variety of traditional martial arts forms and techniques. Participants obtained pledges per kick or punch for each board broken and donations were collected prior to and during the event.\nSt. Jude Children's Research Hospital is widely regarded as one of the world's premier centers for research and treatment of catastrophic illnesses, especially pediatric cancers. St. Jude's patients are never turned away if they are unable to pay.
