Fighting terrorism on PlayStation 2

('SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS' - Playstation 2)

When Sony Computer Entertainment created "SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS" they wanted to produce a flagship game that was so realistic and fun that every video game fan wanted a copy -- and they succeeded. This game for the Playstation 2 console is an ultrarealistic first-person-shooter that gives gamers the command of four Navy SEALS on 12 top secret missions to rid the world of terrorism and protect America from our nation's enemies. This game is unparalleled in its realism, and with over thirty weapons and the remote exotic locations it never loses its flair. \nThe single player game starts with the user as a commander of the Navy's most elite fighting force, trained for combat on sea, air and land. They have a full arsenal and three other "frogmen" at their command as gamers follow the trail of the world's deadliest terrorists in an attempt to uncover and stop a terrorist plot to get their hands on nuclear weapons. This game starts off fairly easy, but as the game play evolves it becomes an extensive, heart-pounding adventure that requires a lot of concentration and time. The game's creators consulted with the Navy Special Warfare division to perfect the maneuvers and tactics that the SEAL team will employ on the hunt for terrorists, so the strategies used to tackle enemies are the same that the government also uses. \nOne of the all-around coolest features of "SOCOM" is the headset and microphone that come with the game and allow gamers to use real military voice commands to move the team into position to attack enemies or even plant explosive charges on a ship's engine. This just adds to the game's realism and many times gamers will find themselves sweating as they become caught up in the action. As if this game isn't awesome enough, for those with online capabilities, the game offers a super-fast-paced, group battle mode that pits a gamer and their friends against other players in up to 16-men battle mode. This game is a must buy for anyone who loves fast paced action adventure games. Though it is slightly more pricey that a normal Playstation 2 game, it's certainly worth the cost.
