IU exhausts trademark violations

IU will not pursue any further action concerning trademark violations in the pornographic video filmed in Teter Quad last October.\nIU spokeswoman Jane Jankowski said the University has exhausted any action against the Shane World's adult film "Campus Invasion" for trademark violations and has decided to not take any further action.\n"The University has reviewed the video for any sort of any trademark violations," Jankowski said. "There is nowhere else to go with that."\nThe University decided in November to review the video for any violations by the company. She said IU sent a warning letter to Shane's World indicating if there was any trademark usage in the video, legal action could take place.\nWhile IU plans no legal action, the story is still being followed by national media outlets.\nThe news tabloid Inside Edition will run a story tonight alleging that Shane's World encouraged some of the students in the film to drink alcohol before participating in the film.\nThe newsmagazine alleges that some of the students in the video are intoxicated, which played a part in getting students to participate in the movie.\nJankowski said she thought the story itself has been exhausted.\n"We don't think there's any place else for the story to go," she said.
