The words uttered by IU basketball coach Mike Davis in regard to the recent loss to Wisconsin foreshadowed the atmosphere for the rest of the "The Mike Davis Show."\n"When I came out onto the court after the halftime, once warm-ups were done, I saw that none of our players were sweating," Davis said on the show Feb. 17. "I knew that was a bad sign." \nAn intense and frustrated Davis showed up at the Student Recreational Sports Center and answered audience questions and critical remarks that were sent his way. Davis probably had other things he could have been doing but he showed up regardless. \nBut recently, the fans don't seem to be attending the show as much. \nThe show is broadcast live at 7 p.m. on AM 1370 WGCL every Monday night (unless the team is away). The taping is held in the lobby of the SRSC. \nThe show is delivered by the familiar voice of IU sports, Don Fischer, who hosts the show. Fischer said the poor audience support recently has had an effect on the show. \n"The small audience changes the show," Fisher said. "Those listening in find the show more exciting when a larger crowd attends, they like the loud applause and crowd reaction."\nFischer also said Davis would like to see a larger fan base attend his weekly show. \n"Mike (Davis) would rather answer the questions of those who attend the show; he really appreciates the fans and their questions," Fischer said. \nDespite the waning attendance, there are still a few IU basketball diehards among the audience. Sophomore Gretchen Garrage walks from the Kelley School of Business to the SRSC to attend the show every Monday after class. \n"I am a season ticket holder, so it's nice to know how the coach responds to things throughout the season," Garrage said. \nFischer said fans should take advantage of this opportunity to get acquainted with the coach and the team. \n"Coach Davis uses his show to make himself available to the public and to give the fans a chance to ask him questions," Fischer said. "(On the show) he expresses his feelings about certain situations and lets the audience know how he's really feeling"
