The Big Ten took on the Big 12 this weekend at the Hoosier Classic tennis tournament. Big Ten teams, which consisted of IU, Ohio State and Iowa, compiled a dominating 54-26 record in competition against Big 12 foes Kansas, Kansas St. and Missouri. \nSenior Karie Schlukebir led the way for the Hoosiers, going undefeated in both singles and doubles. She concluded the tournament Sunday by defeating Kansas' freshman Christin Skoda 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets. Schlukebir didn't lose a set all weekend in her singles matches.\nAfter a successful competition in the singles competition Schlukebir teamed with junior Linda Tran to finish 4-0 in doubles competition in the tournament. Ranked No. 13 nationally in doubles according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, Schlukebir and Tran lost only four games during the weekend. The pair shut out their last two opponents 8-0, Kansas State's freshman Jessica Simosa and junior Halyer McIver as well as Missouri's sophomore Mary Barry and junior Brittney Holiday. \nTran compiled a 2-1 record in singles. Her lone loss was in a hard fought match Sunday to Kansas' sophomore Paige Brown. Tran won the first set 6-3, but lost the second set and the tie breaker 6-4, 1-0 (5). \nJunior Martina Grimm finished Sunday by defeating Kansas' senior Kim Lorenz 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets. Grimm was undefeated in singles, 3-0, and only lost one doubles match (3-1), 9-7 to Ohio State's duo junior Taryn Bowen and sophomore Lindsay Bryan. \nGrimm's doubles partner, freshman Sophie Rychlik, played well alongside Grimm's experience. Rychlik also played a singles match Sunday, but lost 6-0, 6-1, to Kansas' freshman Jamie Lang.\nAfter excelling in her first collegiate tournament at the Bronco Invitational, freshman Sarah Batty ended the tournament Sunday by defeating Kansas' junior Emily Haylock 7-6 (5), 7-5 in straight sets. Batty was 2-1 in singles, but struggled in doubles with sophomore Dominika Walterova by going 1-3. Walterova also played three singles matches for the Hoosiers and won one match, 8-6 over Iowa's junior Jennifer Hodgman
