For anyone who is settled down on a Sunday night to watch the sexual humor of "Sex and the City" you know how much fun Candace Bushnell's four characters have and in "4 Blondes." In Bushnell's newest bestseller the raunchy fun never stops.\nFirst, I have to clarify that despite its title, "4 Blondes" is a good book, no matter what your hair color is. I might have (fake) blonde hair, but I enjoyed this novel despite the character's choice of Clairol shade.\nWith school beginning and a new year ahead of us, I know reading isn't at the top of everyone's to-do list, but if you are actually going to take time to read, this book is a good investment. \nOne thing that makes this novel unusual is that it's divided into four sections, each devoted to a different character. Each character has her own chapter heading according to her place in life, and Bushnell tells each story from a different point of view. So ultimately you are getting four stories for the price of one…On a college budget that's a bargain.\nThe four sections provide easy reading; each section is around 100 pages, give or take, so each section is short, sweet and very scandalous.\nThe blonde adventure begins by following the lives of four women: A model, a columnist, a socialite and a writer. Each woman has her own story to tell, and oddly enough each elitist has her own problems to deal with. One of the most humorous aspects of this novel are the real "problems" that each woman faces. Whether it be Janey, a washed up model/actress searching for a man to pay for her summer vacation or Winnie, who is trying to decide whether to salvage her marriage, nail her husband's best friend or continue having cybersex with her Internet boyfriend, you can see where I'm going with this. Huge problems, huh?\nThe most enjoyable part of the book is that the characters are crazy and slutty. Period. The fact that they stress over who they are going to have sex with that night, who they had sex with the previous night, or who they are having sex with at the current moment is just as raunchy as the TV show without the commercials. Despite the crazy and loose ways of the characters they are funny and you can't help but feel sorry from them when things don't go their way.\nAnother aspect of Bushnell's writing that keeps the pages turning is the reoccurring characters that pop up in the book. It was so "Seinfeld," that I actually looked to see if Jerry contributed to writing the book. The faux movie producer with horrible butt-ne (butt acne) and the movie star whose head is so big he can't fit through the door show up in more than one of the four sections, which links the four women together in some bizzare ways. Besides the "Seinfeld"-esque characters who turn up in each woman's life, the other similarity that links the four is their goal to prove that blondes do have more fun.\nSo whatever hue you are sporting; blonde, brunette, black, or red, as long as you are a girl and have a sex drive you're all set for a wild ride with "4 Blondes"
There's nothing ditsy about '4 Blondes'
