FLORA, Ind. -- A man charged with fatally shooting his father and leaving his terminally ill stepmother to die has surrendered to police in Kentucky.\nSheriff's officers arrested John Kenneth Hyden Sunday at the Lexington, Ky., courthouse, police said.\nHyden, 50, is charged with two counts of murder during the commission of a robbery for the deaths of Roedolph Hyden, 77, and Cecelia Hyden, 67.\nThe couple was found dead in their Flora home Friday by Roedolph Hyden's daughter, who was visiting from the Southeast.\nRoedolph Hyden died from gunshot wounds and Cecelia Hyden died of dehydration, state police said. Investigators believe the couple had been dead about five days before they were found.\nJohn Hyden was charged as a fugitive wanted in Indiana and was being held Monday in the Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center under a $20,000 cash bond.\nHe is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for arraignment on the fugitive charge.\nIndiana State Police Detective Blaine Butler said it was likely Hyden would be returned to Indiana this week if he waived extradition, otherwise it could take up to 60 days for his return.\nJohn Hyden, whom authorities described as frequently homeless and having a 1990 conviction for manslaughter in Lexington, Ky., is suspected of taking a large amount of cash and several firearms from his father's home about 20 miles east of Lafayette, Ind.\nAuthorities said Hyden had been living with his father and stepmother for the past two months. \nRoedolph Hyden's daughter told police that her father and her brother had argued in the past over money.
