Scholars Inn impressed us more than any other restaurant we've been to. Situated in an old remodeled house atop a hill on College Avenue, this restaurant caters to those who want great service and excellent gourmet dishes.\nFans venting delicious smells from the kitchen preceded the entrance into the restaurant. Simple but pleasing solid colors and patterns decorated the interior. The main dining area had plenty of room, and even the bar fit nicely. Quirky extras such as candle holders and pillows in the booth seats richly decorate the eating area.\nWe started our dinner with a Greek sautéed dish. Soft pita bread laid on top of a bed of Roma tomatoes and feta cheese looked simple at first glance, but the delicious taste made us eager to get our entrees.\nThe salmon filet dinner with corn bread and fresh green beans was hot, soft and had a pleasant hint of lemon. Delicious, crisp green beans and creamy rissoto rice accompanied the lemon thyme chicken. This tangy dish was absolutely mouth-watering.\nThe service was practically perfect. Our waitress arrived promptly to take our order and kept her eye on us throughout our meal. She was there when we needed her but didn't bug us by checking back too often. She confidently explained the specials of the day and was friendly.\nThe portions of food were ample and we received a cornucopia of bread choices before our meal. But the price was high enough to deter frequent visits.\nWe were truly impressed with this restaurant. It has nearly every characteristic we like to find in premium restaurants and is definitely one of the best places to eat in Bloomington.
