Kissing Jessica Stein - R\nStarring: Jennifer Westfeldt, Heather Juergensen\nDirected by: Charles Herman-Wurmfeld\nShowing: Showplace East 11\nJessica Stein (Jennifer Westfeldt) hears a co-worker reading aloud the personal ads in the newspapers. Just when she hears the perfect one, the co-worker realizes she was accidentally reading the "women seeking women section." It's the beginning of a wild ride for Jessica as she explores a new area of her sexuality, and it's a journey almost anyone should enjoy.\nI was skeptical at first. All I knew is that the movie was something about two girls hooking up. To my surprise, it wasn't anything like I expected. Jessica ends up answering the personal ad and meeting the woman behind it, Helen Cooper (Heather Juergensen). Helen is close to being the extreme opposite of Jessica. Neither of the girls were lesbians, but each are just trying something new and had experienced bad relationships dating men. Not only do Westfeldt and Juergensen have good chemistry on-screen, but off-screen as well. The two wrote the movie together. \nWestfeldt's role of Jessica Stein will keep you laughing and crying. Her innocence and bluntness will amaze and shock you throughout the entire film. Jessica's relationship with her co-worker Josh Meyers (Scott Cohen) will also keep you guessing until the end.\nAnyone should enjoy this movie, gay or straight. Jessica and Helen's physical relationship on-screen isn't anything even a religious conservative like me couldn't handle -- it's innocent for the most part and just explores two girls' experimentation with their sexuality. \n"Kissing Jessica Stein" certainly surprised me. It's hysterical, it's emotional and more than anything I think it's real. Everything falls into place, as it should. The humor and sweetness of the movie might surprise you and give you a new outlook on what many people go through today in exploring their sexuality.\n
Pucker up, this romantic comedy is a winner
