Gender Studies to play host to lecture tomorrow\nThe Peg Zeglin Brand Chair in Gender Studies will play host to a lecture Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union. Mary Hawkesworth, professor of women's and gender studies at Rutgers University, will speak about contemporary debates of feminism in "The Semiotics of Premature Burial: Feminism in a 'Postfeminist' Age."\nTopics in the lecture include, "Is feminism alive or dead?, If dead, what are the signs of death?, If alive, why is feminism so frequently pronounced dead by popular press and by scholars? and Why has the current era been declared 'postfeminist'?"\nThe lecture will be followed by a reception at the University Club.\nFor more information, contact Gender Studies at 855-0101.\nSigma Chi, Phi Mu to sponsor barbeque for charities\nSigma Chi fraternity and Phi Mu sorority will sponsor a barbeque Thursday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Sigma Chi, on the corner of Seventh Street and Indiana Avenue.
