Meet me at the \'Crossroads\'

She said: \"Liar, you know you liked it\"\nBritney this. Britney that. She's everywhere, and she's unavoidable. Girls hate her because of her tiny waist, bright white teeth and perfect abs. Guys love her for the same reasons. And while I still don't think the girl can sing any better than I can, I own all her albums and honestly enjoyed her first film, "Crossroads."\nIt's become all about Britney in the reviews that trash the movie. How Britney did in the film, how Britney looked in the film. If you see the movie, it's not all about her! It's just as much about Ben (Anson Mount), Kit (Zoe Saldara), and Mimi (Taryn Manning). If you don't like Britney, you might still love her character Lucy in the movie. Lucy is intelligent, down to earth and writes poetry. It's not the typical Britney you're used to seeing in interviews on TV.\n"Crossroads" isn't another "Glitter" (thank God), but instead it's about three friends and a random driver that set out on a road trip to California. Each has a different reason for going, and nothing turns out right. Any girl who has rode in a car with her friends blaring music can identify with the cast as they belt out every song that comes on the radio. I could also see my friends and I staying up late drinking and having absolutely crazy conversations that last all night and then turn into serious talks by sunrise, like the girls do in the movie. \nSince critics have put this entire film on Britney Spears' shoulders, I will do the same. I give her a pat on the back. While "Crossroads" won't be up for any Oscars or Golden Globes, it's doubtful that was Britney's intent in the first place. She had wonderful chemistry with her co-stars and had me convinced that I was watching a story about Lucy, not Britney Spears.\nGet the thought out of your head that it's the ditzy, slutty, "virginal" Britney Spears you always see on TV. Watch the movie for what's it worth. Eye candy for the guys and experiences and moments that only girls can really relate to and appreciate make "Crossroads" a must-see movie.\n
