Boarding game is good, but too easy

Winter X Games Snowboarding 2002\nRating: E for Everybody\nFor: Playstation 2, XBOX\nBy: Konami Games\nOne of the most popular games for the Playstation 2 thus far is the snowboarding game "SSX" and its sequel "SSX Tricky," but many people are not fans because of the non-realistic format. For those who want something a little different, and something more realistic, try the new release "Winter X Games Snowboarding 2002."\n"SSX" offers high speed with insane jumps and tricks with fake riders and fictitious locations, while "X Games" offers real pro riders like Peter Line, Todd Richards and Tina Basich with authentic tricks and actual locations. No snowboarding game has been this realistic about what it feels like to work your way up from the bottom of the ladder, and what it feels like to be on the slope.\nThe game offers an X-Games mode (where one competes in the games in four different events: Half-pipe, Big-Air, Slope style and Boarder X) and two-player duel mode, but the real heart of this game lies in the "Snowboarder" mode. This is where you create your own snowboarder, everything from their name and hairstyle to what kind of goggles they wear. You start off in "Hometown" and have to win contests to get money to buy better equipment and to get passes to other slopes around the world. You have to impress the sponsors to get endorsements, and if you become good, you start getting paid for making films. Working your way through the ranks and about eight other locations such as the Alps and Alaska can be addictive and sometimes complicated and tiresome.\nThe lack of tricks will grow tiresome to the user, and the more difficult ones are not as rewarding as some simpler grinds. Grinding on rails, which is really the only unrealistic part in the game, scores you a lot of points but is too easy when it all comes down to it. As long as you're holding the grind button, you can't fall off, resulting in very long rail slides. \nThe best part of the game has to be the movie theater where you can watch about 20 different trailers for snowboarding films featuring the riders in the game. Watching the real people throw themselves off of giant cliffs is way more entertaining than watching the characters do it in the game. An all-around decent game, but after you beat it, which isn't hard, there really isn't much more to it. A good realistic game, but won't hold your attention for more than a couple of days.\n
